Data Protection Declaration / Notes on Data Protection

With the following notes we inform you about the purpose, type and extent of the collection, processing and use of personal data on our website. The following information relates primarily to the collection, processing and storage of personal data by our web server. Please note that there may be additional notes that apply for registered users in our Terms of Use. Personal data is individual information about personal and factual circumstances of a certain or identifiable natural person.

Hosting services by PLANWERK 6 websolutions GmbH

Within the scope of processing on our behalf, PLANWERK 6 provides us with the services for hosting and displaying the website. All data collected in the course of using this website or in forms provided for this purpose are processed on their servers within Germany. Processing on other servers only takes place within the scope explained here.

Logging

When visiting our internet pages, data is collected, processed and used, for which a personal reference cannot always be excluded. In order for the pages to be displayed in your browser, the IP address must be identified and stored. Usually, an IP address is assigned dynamically by your provider. This address usually changes regularly, so that we cannot establish a personal reference from the IP address. With static IP addresses, however, the creation of a personal reference would be theoretically possible in individual cases.

In detail, the following data record is stored for each retrieval:

IP address of the calling computer
Operating system of the calling computer
Browser version of the calling computer
Name of the retrieved file
Date and time of the retrieval
Transmitted data volume
Referring URL

The stored data is only evaluated for statistical purposes and not for the creation of a concrete personal reference. The data will also be used, if necessary, to enable the correction of errors. IP addresses are deleted after one week at the latest.

Cookies

We use cookies on our website. Cookies are small files that are automatically created by your browser and stored on your end device (laptop, tablet, smartphone or similar) when you visit our site. Cookies do not cause any damage to your end device and do not contain any viruses, Trojans or other malware.

A cookie stores information that is related to the specific end device used. This does not mean, however, that we thereby gain direct knowledge of your identity.

The use of cookies serves, on the one hand, to make the use of our offer more pleasant for you. We use so-called session cookies to recognize that you have already visited individual pages of our website. These are automatically deleted after you left our site.

In addition, we also use temporary cookies to optimise user-friendliness, which are stored on your end device for a certain fixed period of time. If you visit our site again to use our services, it is automatically recognised that you have already been with us and which entries and settings you have made so that you do not have to make them again.

On the other hand, we use cookies to statistically record the use of our website and to evaluate it for the purpose of optimizing our offer for you. These cookies enable us to automatically recognise that you have already been to our site when you visit it again. These cookies are automatically deleted after a defined period of time.

The data processed by cookies is necessary for the aforementioned purposes to protect our legitimate interests and those of third parties in accordance with Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. f of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The first time you visit the site, you will see a cookie notice that allows you to refuse the storage of certain tracking cookies. However, you can configure your browser so that no cookies are stored on your computer or a message always appears before a new cookie is created. However, completely disabling cookies may prevent you from using all the features of our website.

Web analysis by Matomo

1. Scope of the processing of personal data: We use the Matomo (formerly PIWIK) open source software tool on our website to analyse the surfing behaviour of our users. The software sets a cookie on the user's computer (for cookies, see above). If individual pages of our website are called up, the following data is stored:

a. Two bytes of the IP address of the user's calling system
b. The accessed website
c. The website from which the user has reached the accessed website (referrer)
d. The subpages that are accessed from the accessed web page
e. The time spent on the website
f. The frequency of visiting the website

The software runs exclusively on the servers of our website. The personal data of the users are only stored there. The data will not be passed on to third parties.

2. Legal basis for the processing of personal data: The legal basis for the processing of users' personal data is Art. 6 para. 1 letter f of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

3. Purpose of data processing: The processing of users' personal data enables us to analyse the surfing behaviour of our users. By evaluating the data obtained, we are able to compile information on the use of the individual components of our website. This helps us to constantly improve our website and its user-friendliness (“usability”). These purposes also include our legitimate interest in processing the data in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f of the GDPR. By rendering the IP address anonymous, the interest of the users in their protection of personal data is sufficiently taken into account.

4. Duration of storage: The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for our recording purposes. For our website this is the case after 12 months.

5. Possibility of objection and removal: Cookies are stored on the user's computer and transmitted by the user’s computer to our side. Therefore, you as a user also have full control over the use of cookies. By changing the settings in your internet browser, you can deactivate or restrict the transmission of cookies. Cookies that have already been stored can be deleted at any time. This can also be done automatically. If cookies are deactivated for our website, it is possible that not all functions of the website can be used to their full extent.
